Press Release, 04/04/2019 – Burglary Suspect Arrested

During the morning hours of March 26, 2019, the San Ramon Police Department responded to a construction site at the Faria Preserve Development for a report of a commercial burglary.  The suspect(s) broke the locks off of multiple storage containers at the site and stole power tools, home construction hardware, and a dump trailer.  A suspect vehicle was identified as an older model maroon GMC Suburban.

On March 30, 2019, East Bay Regional Parks Police were alerted to an auto burglary at Las Trampas Regional Park, where the suspect(s) smashed the window of a parked vehicle and stole personal items from the vehicle, to include credit cards.   A maroon GMC Suburban was seen in the area during the burglary. The suspect(s) in the Las Trampas auto burglary used the victim’s credit cards at retail locations in San Ramon.

After an extensive investigation, Ronald Stephens, 28 years old, from Concord, CA, was identified as the suspect in both burglaries.  Stephens was associated with the maroon GMC Suburban.  A search of Stephens’ residence in Concord resulted in the recovery of the stolen dump trailer from Faria Preserve and additional stolen property.

Stephens was arrested for possession of stolen property, possession of a controlled substance, and for a felony probation violation.  Additional charges are pending.

Stephens is believed to be associated with numerous other theft-related cases in the area.  If there are any other local law enforcement agencies that have similar cases, please contact Detective Fajeau at (925) 973-2700.

The San Ramon Police Department would like to remind everyone to avoid leaving valuables in plain sight within their vehicles.
