At 6:49 am this morning, San Ramon Police Officers responded to the area of Crow Canyon Road and the Iron Horse trail for the report of a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian. Upon the officer’s arrival, life-saving measures were administered to the pedestrian, who was later pronounced deceased at San Ramon Regional Medical Center. The deceased pedestrian was an adult male from Walnut Creek. His name is being withheld until notifications are made to his next of kin.
The involved vehicle was traveling E/B in the far right lane of Crow Canyon Road when it struck the pedestrian, who appeared to be jogging S/B on the Iron Horse trail crossing Crow Canyon Road. The driver of the vehicle is cooperating with the investigation. During the preliminary investigation, it does not appear as if drugs and or alcohol appear to be a factor.
