Just after midnight last night, a San Ramon Police Officer was driving on San Ramon Valley Blvd when he received a notification from the Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) mounted on his patrol car. The ALPR notification informed him a vehicle near his patrol car had been reported stolen to the Hercules Police Department on April 22nd. When the Officer tried to stop the car, the driver attempted to flee and a pursuit began. The suspect ran several red lights and blew through a few stop signs before running into a curb and blowing out the front tires of the car. The suspect attempted to run from our Officers but was caught after a short foot pursuit. The suspect, a 15-year-old from San Ramon, was placed under arrest and booked into juvenile hall for vehicle theft, attempting to evade the police, possession of stolen property, and resisting arrest.
